Visiting South Bend: where (not) to stay
Headed to South Bend this weekend? A HotelChatter reader brings us a report on what sounds like THE place to stay when you're visiting Notre Dame, The Knight's Inn South Bend. Check out this spread:
...The room was moldy, the walls were discolored, the shower was just disgusting, the bed was lumpy, the pillows were awful (dare I even use the pillow?), there was ----- hair on our sheets, and, worst of all.... there were ropes tied to the four legs of the bed! I hope I don't have to spell that one out of you, but let's just say that this hotel is probably frequented by "undesirables." Gross.
Ropes on the bed....and yet people still contest my argument that South Bend is the bondage capital of the Midwest?

I think that's the "hotel" that used to advertise in the student paper about the room with the hottub.
Definitely on the "do not stay here" list.

Have you seen this before? It's a number guessing game: http://www.amblesideprimary.com/ambleweb/mentalmaths/guessthenumber.html. I guessed 24311, and it got it right! Pretty neat.

Not knowing where to stay, or what is available to those coming in from out of town can be frustrating. There are weekend home rentals available, that are clean, new beds, linens, etc. Some of these homes are fully furnished with furniture, dishes, etc. THese are 35-45 minutes away from the stadium, and away from the clutter on US31. Just a suggestion. Contact me if you need more information.
