Troy Polamalu on SI cover
Former Trojan defensive leader and current Steeler All-Pro Troy Polamalu is THE cover of Sports Illustrated this week, in a pre-planned feature that just happens to come the week after Troy scampered for an 77-yard TD. There's also a feature on Polamalu in the issue, entitled "The Mane Man".
Whatever happens Troy, don't lose those flowing, silky locks.

Troy, my grandson is Sky Woods of Winston, Oregon. You are his idol and, because of his love of football, I watch as many of your games as possible. He's only 13 so isn't in high school yet, but his dream is to be where you are. We are encouraging him the best we can without spoiling him (not an easy thing to do.) He is a terrific young man who is involved in and excels in all sports. I've been trying to think of something special for him for Christmas and I'm hoping you can help me. I would appreciate it if you could do something personal for him but I'd like it to be something that you thought of. I understand you know the Stoffal family in Winston and Jerad is his best friend. People in Winston are very proud of you, Troy. Sky's eyes light up when he talks about you and wants to be where you are someday. He does everything he can to perfect his game and made the school record for the length of an interception this season; 103 yards! I yelled til I was hoarse, let me tell you!
Sorry, I didn't mean to go on like this, but I love my grandson very much and would really appreciate it if you could help me give him a Christmas to remember.

Troy, i think that you are one of the best players in the NFL especially in your Posision Strong Saftey. I am a huge fan of you and the steelers. I realize the chances of your reading this post is slim to none but, still, I want to publically let you know how much a 61-year old grandmother from Kentucky enjoys watching you play football and how much you inspire me. I have read (in my own translation) that one of your missions in life is to "make a difference." Well ... you DO make a difference, dear Troy. Not only do you make a difference in childrens' lives but, also, in the lives of us older fans. You inspire me and kindle hope for the "younger generation." That becomes more and more important to us as we age. Thank you for being all that you are, both on and off the field. Troy, I just want you to know that I really admire you and your personality. You really are a special guy, and there needs to be more people like you, in this world.
