Spring is often cited as a time of renewal, and in recent years that has held true in Pac-10 football. USC would renew its lease atop the conference annually, no matter who had bolted for NFL riches. <!--photo1-->But this spring a different bird is chirping. It's a Duck, er, quacking. After seven seasons of USC dominance, Oregon is the... more »

One of the soft spots in recruiting with Caesar was his lust for big-name recruits and disdain for those who did not fit the profile he wanted at certain positions. The prime example is Stanford tailback Toby Gerhart. USC's baseball coaches begged Carroll to recruit Gerhart. But he was not from the cookie-cutter mold of tailback that Carroll wanted... more »

Who will breakout and make a move toward stardom this season? Most of these guys aren't "new," but they could make the next step up in their careers this spring. Arizona Juron Criner, WR, Jr: Criner (6-foot-4, 210 pounds) is already a familiar name to Wildcats fans. Heck, he led the team with nine touchdown receptions in 2009. The... more »

"Realistically, if we are going to consider this in the foreseeable future, it really is in the next 12... more »

The linebacker and offensive line position is thin.  For the recruiting class of 2010, it is essential that coach Kiffin and staff try to replenish those two positions.  Unfortunately, the linebacker class this year is not strong.  It appears day by day that USC will not meet those standards of grabbing those linebackers to help out our depth in... more »

Lots of extraordinary games to choose from, as well as many ways to ascribe greatness: the size of the stage, the competitiveness of the game and the overall strangeness. And we made the executive decision not to make this a list of USC upset losses -- other than the biggest one of those. 10. Oregon 56, Arizona State 55 (2 OT), 2000:... more »
