Anthony Vazquez had to be relieved from a late 9th inning push by the Cardinal, but his 2-run double earlier in the 9th gave the Trojans enough for a 10-9 victory at the Farm. Vazquez also plays LF so his bat is always a presence in the lineup.

Thanks to Bob P for capturing this historic event on Saturday.
TrojanWire offered, albeit not publicly, a $1000 bounty to anyone who could successfully run the bases in full O.J. Simpson regalia and manage a headfirst-safe slide into home, but apparently the prospect of LA County bail was substantially more than our offer (or there is still very little liquid courage in those Coliseum beers).

Thanks to Chris McGuire again for these photos. We would like to recognize the Pac-10 player of the week, Taj Gibson, but O.J. Mayo gets all the spread in this edition because he is more photogenic. And so are the Song Girls...

Aside from his ability to create his own shot, O.J. Mayo's long arms and ability to play great defense, get steals without gambling — very impressive.

David Ausberry is a strong dude.

This just in... Fred Davis is a pretty athletic TE.

Maybe we should have posted these earlier, but at least we got them up before the next game. All shots courtesy of Chris McGuire. Head over to his blog for more action.

Ladies and gentlemen, we finally have a winner in our "If Rey Maualuga Were An Automobile" Sweepstakes.
Thanks to The Dude for the cell phone snap from the 110 north.

The story of the day was the receiving corps, led by Travon Patterson who used his speed to create space and catch a pair of touchdowns. Vidal Hazelton had an impressive run after the catch scoring on a pass from Booty. And the bigger version of him, David Ausberry, came down with some great grabs. Of course Patrick Turner and tight end Fred Davis showed why they will be the starters. But Stanley Havili could be the biggest difference maker in the passing game this year. He is a fullback with 4.5 speed and great hands.

O-LINE: Drew Radovich (#60), Jeff Byers (#53) and Sam Baker (#79).

Brian Cushing (#10) was not wearing pads -- still nursing his hammy.

It was a loss for the Trojans, but a great performance from Booty.
