Petros Papadakis

Devon Pollard, TrojanWire

Former Trojan tailback and Fox Sports commentator Petros Papadakis scream-talks his predictions on tomorrow's USC-Ohio State matchup, all the while looking and sounding like a post-Swingers version of Vince Vaughn. You know, kind of after Vaughn burned out and really, really let himself go.

Demetri Papadakis, the younger brother of Petros Papadakis, will play at UCLA in the fall. The tailback-linebacker from Peninsula High School is the first member of his immediate family who will not attend USC.... more »

Rey Maualuga's MRI came back negative according to John Jackson on FSN PrimeTicket. While he did suffer a minor sprain, there isn't much swelling and he's listed as day-to-day. That's a huge relief for USC. The all-everything middle linebacker was injured during Thursday's upset loss to Oregon State. He was at practice on Monday but did not participate. On... more »

I was watching a classic replay of USC vs. Fresno State tonight on FSN Prime Ticket. It was one of the most exhilarating games that the Trojans have played in years, and Reggie Bush put on a performance for the ages. His 513 all-purpose yards practically clinched the Heisman that evening. Petros Papadakis was calling the game, and after... more »

Our tour of spring drills would not be complete without a stop at the L.A. Coliseum, home of the USC Trojans.Offensive coordinator Steve Sarkisian, left, had a difficult decision this spring, having to choose between Mark Sanchez or Mitch Mustain as the starting quarterback.Sanchez eventually won the job, but Mustain, who is eligible after transferring from Arkansas, showed his... more »

It doesn't really get interesting until the end when the two exit the room at KLAC-AM (570) studios.

Petros Papadakis, who is very honest and upfront about who he does and doesn't like, has engendered defensiveness and ire from those unhappy about the unlikelihood of a friendship with the P.

Several months earlier, Steve Hartman threatened to punch Papadakis on the air when the two got into a verbal sparring match.

You might think it's impossible for Petros Papadakis to be speechless, but the loquacious talk-show host was at a complete loss for words tonight as he unknowingly walked into his surprise 30th birthday party. Luminaries like Sam "Bam" Cunningham, Matt "Money" Smith and others without a nickname joined Papadakis.... more »

It's quite a night at USC when I accidentally run into Petros Papadakis on campus and I get a ride in his non-descript Lincoln (Not quite the beautfiul big black cat quality). We can see the blood pressure rising on the Internet at the thought of us being together. The only person missing was Pete Carroll, the ``prince of... more »

Good news from radio land:

(Los Angeles, January 5, 2006) -- AM570 KLAC announced this morning the addition of Petros Papadakis to the drive time line-up. Papadakis will join Matt "Money" Smith weekdays 4-7pm for the "Petros & Money" show.

Welcome back to the Los Angeles airwaves, P. It's been way too quiet without you.

petros-pap.jpgScott Wolf (the man Petros himself called the "scourge of the Internet message boards") confirms it -- no more Petros on 1540:

Popular radio host Petros Papadakis resigned from 1540-AM today. Papadakis is going to pursue other interests because the future of the radio station remains up in the air since it was recently sold and is no longer the flagship station of USC football.

We've said it before, we'll say it again -- Petros, there is always a job for you here at TrojanWire. And from what we hear, we pay better than 1540 anyways.

In a suprise annoucement, twin brothers Ryan and Brandon Ting (#38 and #39), will be leaving the USC football team to focus on their medical studies.

Petros Papadakis' dream has come true.

But what recurring subject will he have to bitch about now?
