March Sadness - Game Over

There were still three minutes left in the USC/Kansas St. game, when CBS switched coverage mid-broadcast to the much closer Belmont/Duke match up. That's because, as far as the broadcaster was concerned, the game was already over.

It was a day that the Trojans needed show their strength, coordination and power. Instead they came out looking young, disconnected and inexperienced. And as time whittled down, the 11th seeded Kansas State wound up leading the 6th seeded USC by as much as 16.


The final score at the buzzer was Kansas State 80, USC 67. So one day into the madness and my perfect bracket is already busted. But it's not all bad Trojan fans. Yeah, the team may lose OJ Mayo and possibly Davon Jefferson to the NBA draft. But there's always next year...

But then seriously...here's a taste of next year for real. Check out the video below for some clips of Compton High's Demar DeRozan, a USC signee and #2 overall as according to Rivals 2009 incoming class rankings.

Whaaaaaaaaaaa Happened? Mayo looked spotty. Taj tried to go alone, but couldn't. There was no cohesion. argh!
