Free Trojan Scrimmage

30,000 fans turned out for Pete Carrol's free scrimmage at the Coliseum on Sunday. It was cardinal vs black (first team vs the reserves). And everytime Leinart started a drive, he scored a touchdown; everytime the first string defense had the floor, the black shirts failed to score a touchdown.

It ended up being 50-16.

NOTES: Reggie Bush had an impressive punt return called back. LenDale had a 75-yard score on his first carry. Greig Carlson had a big day (on both the cardinal and black teams) with a sweet one-handed catch running down the sidelines. And Oscar Lua had some big hits.

Four 5-stars, eleven 4-stars and five 3-stars. This was the year of the linebackers for USC, led by Rey Maualuga, but the Trojans also managed to snap up the best player in the nation at quarterback, wide receiver and defensive end.
