Leinart to the Arizona Cardinals

Rory MacDonald, TrojanWire

We warned you about Matt Leinart dropping because of the Titans history of drafting "athletes" a.k.a. "projects". And other GMs would mistake this as former USC offensive coordinator Norm Chow passing on Matt Leinart, when it really has more to do with Titans owner Bud Adams being a native-Texan.

The consolation in Leinart dropping is that he was drafted by a better team. An offense with weapons like Larry Fitzgerald, Anquan Boldin and Edgerin James sounds like something he was familiar with at USC. We know Matt wanted to play for a bigger market team, but he will get stay closer to home and family.

Our condolences to the New York Jets franchise.

This draft thing is overblown, overhyped, overcovered, overanalyzed. Kinda nice to have Leinart in Phoenix. Maybe find an excuse to go out there for a game or two this season. The real shocker is White. Hope things turn out well for him.

Obviously it's a bummer that he didn't go higher, but I really think he's with the right team and in a perfect place for him. I'm excited for him and I'm excited to see what he does. I'll definitely be planning a few roadtrips to Arizona- for Matt AND Deuce!
