Leinart Breaks Collar-Bone

Devon Pollard, TrojanWire

If the news wasn't bad enough for USC already, it ends up the Trojans' curse has trickled into the NFL. First Steelers' safety and former USC stand-out, Troy Polamalu was side-lined with damaged rib cartilage. Now it's Matt Leinart. Leinart was already upset about sharing quarterback time with Kurt Warner. Now, thanks to a broken-collar bone, Warner's going to be taking all the snaps.

Matt Leinart was injured during a second-quarter sack, while playing for a 34-31 win against the St. Louis Rams. Regarding how long Leinart would be out, first year coach Ken Whisenhunt had this to say:

"We don't know how long it's going to be," Whisenhunt said. "But it's going to be for an extended period of time."
