Mark Whicker, Orange County Register Larry Smith’s three consecutive Rose Bowls did not enchant USC fans. Imagine how they reacted to three consecutive seasons that ended elsewhere, particularly 1992, the sixth one, where the Trojans were ultimately found beneath Fresno State.
