Former USC and NFL receiver Keyshawn Johnson saw his pro-career end abruptly, and as many would agree, prematurely. It's clear now Dwayne Jarrett wasn't yet ready to jump in and replace Keyshawn's spot on the Carolina Panthers roster. But the three-time Pro Bowl receiver took his dismissal from the Panthers in stride, happily transitioning as many former NFL players do, into a comfortable life as sports broadcaster. In Keyshawn Johnson's case, an ESPN telecaster.
It was at ESPN that Keyshawn was reunited with former coach Bill Parcells. The two time Super Bowl winning coach had previously coached Johnson for three years while playing for the New York Jets and later another two with the Cowboys. But it's always back to football for the Big Tuna. Parcells recently un-retired for a third time, to become Executive Vice President of Football Operations for the dismal Miami Dolphins. And now CBS' Jim Berry is reporting, Parcells wants Keyshawn to do the same.

The Carolina Panthers drafted a deadly duo from USC. In a Fox Sports article entitled "Ready Rookies" writer Randy Hill makes a case that if started, receiver Jarret and Center Kalil will immediately improve the Panther's offense.
The Panthers strike twice with potential steals out of USC in the second round.Although stopwatch speed was his draft-day downfall, Jarrett is quicker than the guy he's replacing (Keyshawn Johnson). His hands and size should help the Panthers rise from 19th overall in red-zone efficiency.
Kalil should step in as the starter for an offensive line that helped create a measly seven rushing touchdowns last season.

Ex-USC, Veteran NFL receiver Keyshawn Johnson has declined the Titans' two year, $7-8 million dollar contract to take up a position with ESPN Television.
It was out with the old and in with the new for the Carolina Panthers. After Carolina's recent draft acquistion of USC wide receiver Dwayne Jarrett, ex-USC receiver Keyshawn Johnson got the boot. Top overall draft pick in 1996, the soon to be 35 year old Johnson still outplays many of his younger counterparts, wracking up a sizable 815 yards in his single season with the Panthers. Now he's a free agent. And with a number of teams in need of solid a wide out, the very factor that aided Keyshawn's release may become his most valuable asset: his age.
