Dwayne Jarrett, who usually tries to avoid safeties on the field, luckily found it behind the wheel. Ex-USC, and Carolina Panthers' receiver Jarret was involved in a car accident Wednesday night, reports Pat Yasinskas of the Charlotte Observer.

After the initial news release Scout.com contacted Jarrett's manager, Darin Morgan, to confirm the accident had taken place.

Morgan had this to say:

"At this point, it appears that Dwayne only has bumps and bruises. Dwayne has consulted with the Panthers' medical personnel and we will continue to monitor his medical situation.

Dwayne and I talked soon after the accident and thank goodness he was wearing his seatbelt and wasn't seriously hurt."

It always pays to buckle up for safety. A PSA from Dwayne Jarrett and TrojanWire.
