On offense you hear about the best wide receiving corps in the nation, a backfield full of stud freshman, a QB ready to accept his destiny... but what about the Trojan tight ends?

Well. Ummm... Fred Davis... is... a.... big dude.

Up from 240... to about 265 now? What a nice target for JD.

What about his backups though? Gerald Washington and Big Anthony McCoy. Not bad.

On Thursday the players held a voluntary practice in shorts and t-shirts. John David Booty led the offense. Dallas Sartz the defense.

Hershel Dennis was the main guy running the ball, but Whitney Lewis also lined up in the tailback spot.

The 6-foot-6, 240-pound tight-end from Mission Viejo High (alma mater of Mark Sanchez) committed to Notre Dame yesterday.

Oh well. Have fun with pasty white chicks, grey skies and corn fields.

Not to worry Trojan fans. We got this guy -- a 6'5" 253-pound tight end by the name of Gerald Washington.

Mission Viejo TE Konrad Reuland4-star/Blue Chip tight end Konrad Reuland from Mission Viejo High School is reportedly still considering signing with the Trojans, after taking a cross-country trip to visit Notre Dame, Miami, Ohio State and Nebraska, according to Rivals.com.

ESPN had been reporting that Reuland had Stanford #1, SC #2, and Notre Dame #3 earlier in the year. Reuland would be the second TE to join the incoming class -- Gerald Washington of Chaffey College in Rancho Cucamonga has already committed to USC.

The newest verbal commit to the SC football program, a 6'5" 253-pound tight end by the name of Gerald Washington, has got to be 22 or 23 years old. He did a four year stint in the Navy post highschool, and is now transferring from Chaffey Junior College at the start of 2006. So he could be 23 or 24 before he ever plays for the Trojans. From the looks of it, Gerald Washington could be one bad ass motherfucker.
