Fred Davis playing Vince Young

Rory MacDonald, TrojanWire

While running the scout team offense, Fred Davis has been wearing a No. 10 jersey, mimicking the running style of Texas quarterback Vince Young.

Davis has seen a substantial increase in playing time and production this season--essentially becoming a co-starter at tight end along with Dominique Byrd.

Does this even make any sense? Fred Davis? Didn't he get moved to TE after he came into camp last year too big and slow to play WR?

What the hell happened to Rocky Hinds? Isn't he our Vince Young, Jr.?

Fred Davis played QB in high school, but Mark Sanchez is mimicking more of Vince Young's passing game.

"Yeah, I'm the passing Vince Young and Fred Davis, he's the running Vince Young," Sanchez said. "He's the closest thing we've got that can run like him."
