USC is in front of the NCAA Infractions Committee in Tempe, Ariz., today and the next two days, a reckoning four years in the making since of star running back Reggie Bush's lucrative farewell season hit the news in 2006. Fans were impatient about the NCAA's response in 2007. In four to six weeks, finally, we'll have our resolution... more »

Among the many conspiracy theories and outlandish rumors making the rounds re: the NCAA's pending reaction (or lack thereof) against USC when the long-awaited Reggie Bush illegal benefits case finally goes before the Infractions Committee this weekend, none has been as persistent as the suggestion that the NCAA wouldn't dare drop the hammer on one of its most visible,... more »

The linebacker and offensive line position is thin.  For the recruiting class of 2010, it is essential that coach Kiffin and staff try to replenish those two positions.  Unfortunately, the linebacker class this year is not strong.  It appears day by day that USC will not meet those standards of grabbing those linebackers to help out our depth in... more »

Here's what Randy Taylor, a former recruiting coordinator at UCLA and currently a recruiting analyst thinks are the most interesting classes: ``Florida may have the best class ever based on the talent level of their committed players on paper; Washington who may be in the top 10 to 15 classes in the end; Stanford and BYU, who are going... more »

Yes, there are lots of USC teams in our list of the "best Pac-10 teams of the decade." Not sure how you get around that. From 2002 to 2008, the Trojans finished ranked in the nation's top four. During that span, no other conference team topped the Trojans in the national rankings. One team not listed, however, merits special mention:... more »

Crash-tested for your approval. Oh well-done, Freek. Nothing further on the glamorous life Lane Kiffin left behind him in Knoxville, though Kevin Steele was certainly impressed enough by Clemson’s offerings of automobiles to turn down the Vols’ Lexuses to remain at Clemson. Part of the cash to keep him allegedly came from Dabo himself, who diverted part of his... more »

Today is not the day to use the word "seismic," but there aren't many adjective too strong for the shift in college football over the last three weeks. If you fell asleep on the night that Alabama beat Florida and Texas beat Nebraska to end an unusually uneventful regular season on Dec. 5, and didn't wake up to survey... more »

There appear to be two initial reactions to the Lane Kiffin hire at USC. First, fans and media -- particularly around Tennessee -- are outraged. And the media reaction in LA isn't exactly a warm hug. But one place where Kiffin landing at USC is seemingly being met with great cheer is recruiting. At least on the Trojans' end... more »

USC's coaching search hit the pedal just hours after Pete Carroll's official farewell Monday night, springing hacks and rumors into action from coast to coast. In Los Angeles, the L.A. Daily News' Scott Wolf says USC has presented a formal contract to former Trojan All-American and Jacksonville Jaguars head coach Jack Del Rio, who's reportedly spent much of the... more »
