Emmanuel Moody

``He's an injury magnet. ``It's not because he's a bad guy or because he's not tough. He'll be fine though, we just have to keep him up. He has worked his tail off. If you look at him, he's jacked, he's strong.'' -- Florida coach Urban Meyer on former USC tailback Emmanuel Moody, who is out with a sprained... more »

Here it is again: the worst day of the year. No more college football. 239 days until USC kicks off against San Jose State. So what are you going to do with all that free time? Suggestions...buy a puzzle. A very, very big puzzle. Maybe go on a nature hike, and make a collage with the twigs and leaves you find. That should keep you busy. With any luck, in 239 days, you'll have a freaking masterpiece.

So here we are again. The dust has settled from Florida's 24-14 spanking of Oklahoma in Thursday night's National Championship game, although none of it came from ex-Trojan Emmanuel Moody, who finished with a single carry for zero yards. With the decisive win over Penn State in the Rose Bowl, USC finished in the exact same spot it had last season, #3, giving USC its 7th top four finish in seven years. Who finished #2? Not Oklahoma (the Sooners dropped to 5th after the title loss). Not Texas, who barely beat Ohio State for the final #4 AP spot. No, the #2 team in the country is the undefeated, 13-0, Utah Utes. And Utah deserves that spot, if not the #1 spot after ass-whooping Alabama 31-17 in the sugar bowl. Watching Alabama get beat by Utah was like having a second Christmas. Which brings us full circle back to the "USC is a Joke" article, posted by Alabama fan earlier in the season. Well, that article has long since been deleted, but the punchline keeps getting better.

And the coaches, the men that know the league better than anyone and actually have the opportunity to play against the Trojans, they ranked USC #2 in the USA Today Coaches poll. Oh, and how did Mark Sanchez fare compared to Heisman winners Bradford and Tebow? Follow the jump to find out.

After sitting out last season because of NCAA regulations, three USC transfers are struggling to establish themselves at their new schools. Former USC tailback Emmanuel Moody has recorded only two carries for 2 yards in his first two games at Florida. Seven other Gators have carried the ball more times than Moody.... more »

Your forecast for the day: surreal. Yeah. Catlab. Ohio State versus USC. Just back away and make sure there aren’t any sharp objects around, okay? We’ll call that a pick for USC to cover in a landslide, metaphorically speaking. The L.A. Times goes fretting nelly with the USC offense, who believe Ohio State’s defense will bring significant pressure on... more »

College Football News ranks the different units from around the country. USC makes a splash on defense but not surprisingly they struggle to get a lot of recognition on offense. I am not going to comment on this too much as this is pretty accurate from an SC standpoint. This is more for just general knowledge.   2008 CFN Unit... more »

USC has become so consistently good that we, as observers, have cruised past the offramp to boredom and instead gone deep into the territory serviced by the highway of absurdity. It’s nice out here, really: instant #2 slots in polls, near-certainty in victory, and no hyperventilation when it comes to For example. Pete Carroll dropped news today that would... more »

Why did USC allow Emmanuel Moody to go to Florida but force an appeal hearing for wide receiver Jamere Holland after denying him a transfer to Oregon (and Florida). ``You can't let someone talk to other schools, stop going to meetings and other things, and then let them just go to another Pac-10 school,'' said a source familiar with... more »

I just spoke to a close observer of the Florida football program regarding Emmanuel Moody. ``He's insane,'' the person said. ``Running backs rarely get 15 touches a game here.'' Moody also forgot that Urban Meyer's never had a 1,000-yard rusher, the source said.... more »

Quite a week around here. Pete Carroll told me the last official night of camp that it had been quiet and that was after Emmanuel Moody and Jamere Holland left the program. Good thing nothing newsworthy happened although all of these events distracted me from the true cause of completing ``Mitch and Me.'' The window for asking questions was... more »
