Early Odds: USC -4.5, Ohio St

Devon Pollard, TrojanWire

The game of the season is close to two months away and Vegas is getting itself ready. Early projections have USC on top...but not by much. The 4.5 point spread shows just how unsure bookies are about USC's young offensive line and QB Sanchez' accuracy. As reported by the LA Times:

"Not to put undue pressure on the new quarterback, but the Golden Nugget in Las Vegas has set opening lines on two key USC football games, favoring Mark Sanchez and the Trojans by 4 1/2 points over Ohio State and 17 1/2 over Notre Dame."

Yes Charlie...that says 17 1/2. And that's despite Notre Dame reaching several milestones in the 2007 season. The most losses in a single year with 9; two of the ten worst losses ever (38-0 losses to both Michigan and USC); and the first 6-game losing streak for home games. You think all those records would count for something. What can I say? I guess Rodney just says it best...
