Another Former Trojan Gets In Trouble

Last week it was Dwayne, now it's big Lendale being charged with destruction of public property and disobedience to a lawful order. I used to ride my bike to class and see Lendale hollering at random people out of the back of Alex Holmes' Escalade. I remember chuckling to myself and thinking then, "What a fool." Now I don't chuckle so much.

2008 Recruiting Dinner

The scene was on court at the Galen Center again, where a couple times Pete Carroll expressed his desire to see Tim Floyd's bunch hand the Bruins another loss this year.

Carroll said this class was about "bigs" not "flash" and he felt fortunate that the Trojans were in a position to play it this way, this year. Joe McKnight was sure excited about the 5 solid offensive line prospects.

After the jump are some notes from last nights event.

Khaled Holmes Prediction

There are a number of media outlets speculating that Khaled Holmes, younger brother of former USC tight end Alex Holmes, will announce his commitment to USC within the upcoming days. I'm willing to go beyond speculating and say the Khaled Holmes is 100% Cardinal & Gold.

Last night at The Simpsons Movie premiere the USC Sports Talk crew happened to be in line with none other than Khaled Holmes himself. Sporting a USC sweatshirt, throwing up the Victory Sign, and telling his friends to Fight On! Khaled left me with zero doubt that he was born and bred to be a Trojan.

Here's a glimpse at what the offensive line may look like during the 2009-2010 season....
Matt Kalil, Martin Coleman, Kristopher O'Dowd, Khaled Holmes, and Tyron Smith. Whoever wins the starting quarterback job should book their plane tickets to New York immediately.

Grootegoed Goes To Tampa Bay

Unbelievable that Matt Grootegoed got snubbed in the seven rounds of the NFL Draft. He was a finalist for the Butkus Award!

Grootegoed will make an impact--signing as a free agent with Tampa Bay--even if it's from the safety position or special teams.

USC cornerback Kevin Arbet also is expected to sign with Tampa Bay,
tight end Alex Holmes and offensive lineman John Drake are going to
Miami, fullback Lee Webb and wide receiver Jason Mitchell to
Jacksonville, safety Jason Leach to San Diego and kicker Ryan Killeen
to Detroit.

Grootegoed's choice will be Tampa Bay [OC Register]
